Planning for our March 14 & 15 Expect conference at @vancouver_church is in full swing, and we’re ready to announce some of our leaders and teachers 🙌🏼.

We are honored to introduce @shelbishutt as Saturday’s main session speaker. Shelbi’s humble spirit, dedication to Christ, Biblical literacy and beautiful confidence have already moved our hearts, and we’re grateful to spend time studying God’s Word with her in March.

Shelbi Shutt is a pastor, speaker, writer, and disability advocate who has given her life to teaching and empowering people to encounter God’s presence in and through their weaknesses. Shelbi has had the opportunity to share her unfolding story of steadfast hope with thousands of people across the country, igniting joy and resilience wherever she goes. Shelbi currently serves as the Pastor of Gathering and Teaching at A Jesus Church in Portland, Oregon, while pursuing her Masters at Western Theological Seminary. Alongside her work in the local church, Shelbi has been a collaborative partner with Alpha, Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, The Fuller Youth Institute, BibleProject, and the Canadian Church Leaders Network. Shelbi lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, Jordan and their pup, Cas.

These are just some of the questions we’ll explore together at our annual 2025 Arise Equip: EXPECT conference on March 14 & 15, and we sure hope you can join us. 🥾Lisa completed 410 miles in 25 days of walking.⁣

🎒Emily and Lee Ann walked 162 miles in 11 days.⁣

👣What began as a team of 10 women in Lisbon, finished with 45 in Santiago de Compostela. ⁣

🙌🏼Team Arise raised $31,454 (Thank you!!!).⁣
⁣
🤍 This Freedom Challenge raised a combined $400,000! All money raised will go DIRECTLY to programs that prevent and combat modern day slavery.⁣

Thank you to everyone who has supported this challenge in encouragement, prayer, and donations to @thefcusa. Team Arise has raised over $30,000, and @leeaderoo and @emilymcmillanbonife joined Lisa in Porto today. We’ll finish the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela TOGETHER.

Follow along with @ldasilva for daily updates in her stories, and join us in interceding for strong bodies and the release of all who need freedom.

This is what we pray on the trail every day. We’d love if if you prayed it along with us:

Our guide at every crossroad,
Our protection in danger.

Our endurance on our journey,

💫 Team Arise is one month away from departing for their El Camino de Santiago Challenge in Portugal! We’re incredibly grateful for your partnership and generosity!

🏔️ Here are three ways you can still get involved:
1. Pray for Lisa, Emily, and Lee Ann and their upcoming walk-a-thon. Prayer is essential in every stage of this journey: during preparation, while trekking, and of course, for the vulnerable women and children who Freedom Challenge serves. 🙏
2. Make a donation of any amount! Team Arise has $8,000 left to raise and every gift goes directly towards programs that combat human trafficking. $150 helps set a woman or child on a pathway to transformational freedom. Follow the link in our bio to donate and read more about Freedom Challenge and the movement of passionate women dedicated to freeing oppressed and enslaved women and children all around the world. 💗

📣 July 30th is the annual World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

▫️According to International Justice Mission (@ijm), an estimated 50 million people are held in slavery today. This sobering statistic continues to grieve our hearts and we recognize how overwhelming it can all feel. We long for the day when modern slavery is abolished, and we continue to look to our Father in Heaven to deliver justice, mercy, and dignity to His beloved people. We desire to be deeply involved in the deliverance of all image-bearers.

▫️There are many organizations on the front lines doing important work to support this cause, and they won’t stop until it’s eradicated. In the meantime, we seek every opportunity to partner with them and work towards a solution, and we pray that you and those you love will join us in this all-important fight.

▫️Our friends at @thefcusa and @epik_project are fantastic resources to self-educate, continue the conversation on ending modern-day slavery, and identify key ways to help. @forward_edge is another organization that protects the most vulnerable by providing holistic care through education, training, and feeding programs.
